Top 5 Best Gaming Keyboards Under ₹1,500 in India (2026) – Mechanical & RGB

If you are building a budget gaming PC in 2026 or simply want to upgrade your laptop desk setup, a standard office keyboard will ruin your experience. Membrane keyboards suffer from “ghosting,” meaning if you press multiple keys at once while playing fast-paced games like BGMI or Valorant, some keys simply won’t register.

The good news? The era of expensive gaming gear is over. For under ₹1,500, you can now buy genuine Mechanical Gaming Keyboards with clicky Blue/Red switches, full anti-ghosting technology, and mesmerizing RGB backlighting.

Pro Tip: A great keyboard is useless if your aim is terrible. Complete your gaming setup by pairing your new keyboard with a high-precision sensor. Check out our guide on the Top 5 Best Gaming Mice Under ₹1,000.

7. Keyboard Buying Guide: Don’t Make This Mistake!

1. Mechanical vs. Membrane

• Mechanical: Uses individual physical switches under every key. They are faster, highly durable, and give a distinct physical bump when pressed. (Best for Gaming).
• Membrane: Uses a rubber dome sheet. They are quieter and cheaper but can feel “mushy” and wear out faster. (Best for silent office work).

2. Blue Switches vs. Red Switches

If you buy a mechanical keyboard, you will usually have to choose the switch color:

• Blue Switches: Loud, clicky, and tactile. They sound like an old typewriter. Great for typing, but can annoy your roommates.
• Red Switches: Smooth, silent, and linear. You don’t feel a “bump” when pressing them. Highly preferred by competitive gamers for rapid double-tapping.

3. Understanding Sizes (Full vs TKL vs 60%)

• Full Size (100%): Has the number pad on the right. Good for accounting/data entry, but takes up too much mouse space.
• TKL (Tenkeyless / 87%): Removes the number pad. The perfect balance for gaming and daily use.
• 60% Layout: Removes the number pad, arrow keys, and F1-F12 keys. Purely for hardcore gaming where mouse space is the priority.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q1: What is “Anti-Ghosting”?

In cheap office keyboards, if you press ‘W’, ‘Shift’, and ‘Spacebar’ together, the computer might only register two keys and ignore the jump. Anti-Ghosting ensures that no matter how many keys you press simultaneously, every single input is registered instantly.

Q2: Can I change the switches if they break?

Most keyboards under ₹1,500 are not hot-swappable, meaning the switches are soldered to the board. However, they are rated for 50 Million clicks, meaning they will easily last 4 to 5 years of heavy usage.

Q3: Does RGB lighting improve performance?

No, RGB lighting does not give you more FPS! However, backlit keys are incredibly useful for seeing your keyboard clearly when playing in a dark room.

Conclusion

• For the Best Mechanical Feel (TKL): Buy the Cosmic Byte CB-GK-16 Firefly.
• For Competitive FPS Gaming (60% Size): Buy the Ant Esports MK1300 Mini.
• For Silent Typing & Brand Trust: Buy the HP K500F Membrane.
